Abstract

An accurate reliable and efficient computer code for inviscid cascade flow calculations has been developed and applied on sheared H-type grids. The integration in time is based on Jameson's explicit Runge-Kutta scheme Numerical efficiency is obtained through local time stepping, implicit residual smoothing and a full multigrid strategy wedge is added to blades with rounded trailing edges and care is taken to correctly capture the shock system with rounded capture the shock system when the outlet flow is supersonic. Comparison with experiments shows that the method can be applied to turbomachinery, yielding good blade-to-blade prediction
